Oracle 10g New Data Types

This explains the new Data Types introduced in Oracle 10g.

Following are the new Data Types added to the Oracle 10g:

BINARY_FLOAT – BINARY_FLOAT is a 32-bit and single precision floating point number Data Type and it takes 5 bytes including a length byte.

BINARY_DOUBLE - BINARY_DOUBLE is a 64-bit and double precision floating point number Data Type and it takes 9 bytes including a length byte.

SDO_GEORASTER – used to store a raster grid or image in a single row

SI_StillImage – represents digital images with inherent image characteristics (height, width and format).
