use host name with port number - Santhosh N replied to Lalitha Kumaran on 13-May-08 10:37 AM

You can use the host name of the server where the application runs.
If it is deployed to a specific node, then that port number need to be used.
ex:
http://server:2345/nameof the App

You can use Servername instead of IP. For this you've to check the My Computer Properties -> Computer Name Tab. Check the Computer Full Name and replace it with the IP Address. If you' re not ok with the default name or existing name, contact your system admin to change the DNS name of the computer.

If your server is having host name then you can access your site with the help of hostname instead of IPAddress.
like  http://hostNmae//yoursitename/       like that...

The ways in which the website can be accessed in the intranet by following ways:

1. http://ip/ address/ virtual folder name

2.http://Machine Name/ Virtual Folder Name

3.http://Domain name/ Vitrual Folder Name

Virtual Directory - Rakesh Vikram replied to Lalitha Kumaran on 21-May-08 07:46 AM

You can achieve it by changing the Virtual Folder Name to the link name you want to access in IIS Manager for the web site.

Hope this may help you out.
