JavaScript - Cross Domain Cookie Solution - Asked By Nagaraj muthuchamy on 23-Jul-08 12:06 AM

Hi,

I am using the jquery.js to access the cookies. I am using parent page to set the cookie and trying to access the cookies in child page which is in another domain.

But I couldnot access the cookies in child pages. I think, It must be related to browser security. Is there any any other technique to make the cookies cross domain using Javasript.

Thanks,

For security reasons, browsers do not allow you to share or set cookies across top level domains.  You can only share cookies between subdomains (ie, sub1.domain.com and sub2.domain.com).  Doing this would not be possible with any of the SSO modules.  You would have to develop a custom solution and likely have to use the query string or some form elements.

Thanks for the answer.

I am wondering, How the google cookies are used to sign in to youtube automatically?

Is that anything to do with server side script?
