JavaScript - How do I edit the content of another webpage permanently using Javascript?

Asked By binayak ghosh on 30-Mar-09 05:48 AM

I have a webpage in a site (for example, http://www.mysite.com/abc.htm). Using javascript, I want to edit the content of the page. Or in other words, I have a textarea and a submit button and when I submit some text, the content of the webpage changes permanently.

Thanks in advance.

You cannot save changes to a web page with JavaScript. You would need a server-side language to commit the changes. You can use JavaScript alongwith a server-side language

If you have to edit a few pages, you can build a custom tool but if several pages are involved then to simplify editing your webpages, you can explore any of these CMS (Content Management System) tools -
Umbraco - http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=umbraco http://www.umbraco.net/
SharpNuke - http://sourceforge.net/projects/sharpnukenet/
