Microsoft Word - reset MERGESEQ in between pages

Asked By davy marteyn on 18-Jun-10 04:39 AM

hello,

i have one doc that merges with a list of patients,

the doc goes through the different meals of the day, so for example page one is breakfast with all the patients in a table, then page two is lunch with all the patients in a table, and so on, these pages are then printed and next to each patient is filled in with a pen the exact time when the meal was served.

i am using an excel form that lists the patient id's and names as the external source

in the doc i have then something like this:

Breakfast

name                      hour                  comments

{MERGEFIELD "pat_id"}           --:--

{MERGEFIELD "pat_name"}

--------

{NEXT}{MERGEFIELD "pat_id"}      --:--

{MERGEFIELD "pat_name"}

--------

{NEXT}{MERGEFIELD "pat_id"}      --:--

{MERGEFIELD "pat_name"}

then the next page is

Lunch

name                      hour                  comments

{MERGEFIELD "pat_id"}           --:--

{MERGEFIELD "pat_name"}

--------

{NEXT}{MERGEFIELD "pat_id"}      --:--

{MERGEFIELD "pat_name"}

--------

{NEXT}{MERGEFIELD "pat_id"}      --:--

{MERGEFIELD "pat_name"}

my problem here now is that "pat_id" stays with the last patient in the excel doc. so it doesnt load again the patients, it just loads 1x the last patient (which should be the first one again) and nothing else besides this is filled in

i would like to reset "pat_id" each time i start a new page (a new meal) to fill in the list correctly, any ideas?

thx

That link isn't really relavent to my problem.

My problem is that at the end of page one i'm at the end of my records from my external excel source.

So in the second page i want te rebegin at the first recond, but i cant find a solution for that.

I'd need a tag like "go to first" instead of "next" at the beginning of the second page.

Any advice?

Hi all,

Just to know if somebody had given the solution for the problem stated by "reset MERGESEQ in between pages".

(I have exactly the same problem: when I want to re-start the second page so as to introduce the "Lunch" information for the same 10 patients, the mail merge doesn't load again the patients, it just loads the information re the last patient (instead of placing the info of the 1st patient...).

I would like to reset each time I start a new page. Any ideas?
