# Microsoft Excel - I would like to use the 'sum of' symbol in an Excel 2007 chart

Hi,

I would like to use the 'sum of' symbol in an Excel 2007 chart. It is easy enough to insert in the spreadsheet but does not transfer onto the chart. Is there a better way to do this? I have read that sometimes you can insert a string of numbers that correspond to the symbol, but I have no idea what they would be for this symbol. Is there somewhere to find these?

Thank you in advance - all suggestions greatly appreciated,

Mia Gallo

Let's say you want it in the Axis Title. Select the axiz title and then go to the Insert Tab. At the end you will see Symbol. Click there and you will have a window with the symbols. Under the subset, either go to Greek and Coptic or Mathematical Operators. You will fins the character you want there.

Hope this helps.
