hi,

Try running from the Start menu: Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express, Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010).

This runs C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat.  You need to pass in a platform (x86, etc.).  Run it from the menu.

here are two good links for this

Try to make sure that if the folder "%Disk%\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\" exist. If exists, try the following command to start up your VS command prompt.

%comspec% /k ""%Disk%\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\vcvarsall.bat"" x86

%comspec% stands for the location of cmd.exe file  eg: c:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe

%Disk% stands for the driver you install your Visual Studio. eg: E:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\
