Windows 7 - Internet checkers from windows XP to work on win 7 ?

Asked By Matt on 08-Feb-11 11:38 AM
Has anyone figured out how to get the Internet Checkers from XP to work
in Windows 7 ??
Yes I know they have the Zone games, but the zone links are slow to come
up and the when a player leaves it can take more than 5 minutes for them
to find another player "that matches your skill level" what ever that means.
The XP version is fast and there are lots of players.

The Xp version is the same version that in in windows 7.  Do you not have a operating system that comes with it?
All three are included in the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.
Go to Start and search for "internet checkers" from what i read it's the same as the XP version

The Games Explorer in Windows 7 was redesigned to satisfy both casual and hard-core gamers alike. You can now elect to get software updates and news feeds for installed titles. The Games Explorer also tracks wins, losses, and other fun stats.

By popular request, we've brought back three of the most-loved multiplayer games from Windows XP: Internet Checkers, Internet Spades, and Internet Backgammon. All three are included in the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.

If you enjoyed these games in the past, you'll like them even better now. In Windows 7, each title features slick new 3-D graphics and numerous game play improvements. Look for these and other Windows games in the Games Explorer, which has also been redesigned for Windows 7 to offer game updates, statistics, news feeds, and more.

Also:

Games are turned off. By default, the games that come with Windows are turned off, in some editions. To turn them back on:

1.     Click the Start button , click Control Panel, click Programs, and then under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows features on or off.
