Windows Live - How can the public access my skydrive public files?

Asked By Richard aka Dick Clouston on 19-Jan-12 05:58 PM
I've posted a number of files to a public folder on skydrive. I know about, and use, sharing to my email contacts right off skydrive, or by copying a link.   Is there another, simple way members of the public can get access to these files for themselves?   Thanks

Do you mean sharing the files or folders

  1. Go to the file or folder you'd like to share and expand the rightmost pane if it's collapsed.

  2. Under Sharing, click Share or Share folder.

  3. Go to the Send mail tab and add the email addresses, contact names, or a group you'd like to share with.

I know ways for me to share off skydrive.   Without any kind of link, etc from me, is there a simple way Joe Q Public can get access to my publicly shared Skydrive Files for himself? If you know a way, appreciate if you could spell-out the steps.  Thanks

Skydrive is a web tool there you can manage and share your docs online.

if you want to share your file then for each file you can set public share on or off.

if your file is in share d mode then you can give link of that file to share.

So far, you guys are just re-telling me stuff I already know. Pleae stop that, it does not help. Is there a way to make my public folder on Skydrive searchable from things like bing or google, etc? That is, someone enters my folder name, and up comes a link to it?
