Microsoft Excel - If I update any value in X excel file it should replicate same in Y excel file

Hi All,

If I update any thing in  X file it should get updated in Y  file.

If I give direct reference will that help? If possible please provide examples with attaching files.

You could have a macro triggered by a worksheet change event that accesses the other file and copies the data.

Yes, if you point the cells Y to the cells in X, they can update automatically when you open Y.

The easiest way to do this is to open both workbooks at the same time, then let Excel create the formula for you by selecting a cell in Y, typing "=" and selecting the cell in X you want it to reference.  Depending on your security settings, it may update automatically or ask you if you want to update.
