Microsoft Excel - I need a Macro in workbook to remove Macro from the newly saved & renamed workbook
Asked By Phil Robertson on 18-Apr-13 12:16 PM
I currently have a workbook with a macro that gives the user a message and then forces the save as function to change the name before proceeding with Data entry.
My problem is the newly saved workbook has the same macro in it and I do not want it to be in that newly saved workbook.
What would the code be that I put in the first workbook so as the newly saved workbook does not save it with the macro.
Here is the code I have in the first workbook:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
MsgBox "This is only an input workbook, Click OK and you will need to RENAME the spreadsheet with the JV NUMBER name BEFORE proceeding with DATA ENTRY.", vbInformation + vbOKOnly
ChDrive ("g:\") 'in case G is NOT your default
filesavename = Application.GetSaveAsFilename( _
filefilter:="Excel Workbooks (*.xls), *.xls")
If filesavename <> False Then
You assistance would be greatly appreciated.

One approach would be to copy your worksheets to another workbook and save that and this might prove safer that trying to delete code on the run.
I think I have done something like this before but don't have access to the example at the moment.
