Visual Studio .NET - troubles running visual studio net

Asked By Hendrik De Kegel on 06-Jul-05 02:10 AM
Hi, First I have to say that I have a with Visual Studio 2003 instead of 2005, but I wasn't sure wich of the other fora I should consult.

I am a student and I have to learn to work with Visual Studio.NET

My problem is that when I want to create a new project, and my computer is not conected to the internet I receive the following message: "The web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhostcheckboxlist/CheckBoxList'.'Server or address could not be resolved'.
I have installed IIS before I installed Visual Studio.
I think that I have to change a setting in IIS, but I have no clue wich one.

Is there somebody who can help?

Your url looks incorrect - Asked By Aarthi Saravanakumar on 11-Jul-05 01:22 PM

'http://localhostcheckboxlist/CheckBoxList' should look like

'http://localhost/checkboxlist/CheckBoxList.aspx' or .asmx for a web service.

As for the setting in IIS, you need to associate ASP.NET extensions with the aspnet_isapi.dll this is done as follows:

Open a Command prompt
Go to the directory of installation of .NET framework. Then run
aspnet_regiis -i for associating the extensions.
You should be all set
