VB 6.0 - How to subclass DTPicker control in Visual Basic

Asked By Zheng Huang on 24-Aug-05 08:30 PM
Hello,

I would like to subclass DTPicker so that I can allow BLANK date field on form.

Currently, I can set "CheckBox" property to "true" so that NULL is allowd. However we can still see a date value in the field. I would like to see the BLANK on that date field or blank out the date field if the user does not want any date.

I see some posts that indicat DTPicker can be subclassed. Adding/changing properties are possible. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Thanks very much in advance,

Zheng

Subclassing is not possible with VB6 - Asked By Sachin Mukherjee on 25-Aug-05 02:39 PM

Subclassing or inheritance is possible with VB.NET but not with visual basic 6.

I dont see why you want to blank out the date. DTPicker allows users the capability to provide a date after checking the small checkbox so why not go with the available functionality?
