Baldur's Gate : Dark Alliance

Baldur's Gate : Dark Alliance

I'm not a big fan of consoles. Save for a passing addiction to Gran Turismo and its descendants, I could really give a rat's ass less when it comes to console games. Frankly, my hands are too big for those tiny buttons, and my hand eye coordination hasn't been honed by years of excessive abuse. Frankly, PC games offer more bang per buck, and moreover, there far easier to obtain illegally.

Any PC gamer is likely to spooge at the mention of Baldur's Gate. As an inept and often ignored leader of a party of dragonslayers [The Stuck Up Paladin, The Arrogant Mage, and the Klepto] (*we killed Firkraag -- nooch*), I've been known to collapse in puddle when I hear the call - "Swords, not words!"

This was the hook that dragged me into that damned black box. An arcade like pursuit of slaughter and glory, in the fucked up city of Baldur's Gate. Dark Alliance, a PS2 console game, has brought this PC gamer out from the safe city of hard drives, 3d acceleration, and hardware upgrades, to the gaming world's equivalent of the macintosh. But, fuck it - as Lilarcor would say, "hack and slash your way to fortune."

Death and destruction, with just enough of an rpg edge to lay claim to the D&D; heritage.

In parting, let me say - "Never had rats, not enough once." And no, that doesn't have to make sense. Its 12:25, I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I want to play that fucking game. I can not allow this addiction to take on the pull of Max Payne or Wizardy 8, because I need a salary, and unlike Wil Wheaton, I don't get paid to play games.
