jQuery provides chaning feature to call multiple method calls in single statement.
Say for example, if you want to remove and assign a new css class to the DIV, you could do in this way
$('div1').removeClass('class1').addClass('class2');
and other example to select a column and color it and append the
text
$('#Table1').find('.lastColumn').makeRed().append('eggHead');
