Running Asp.Net Application in IE8 compatible mode

There is some formatting issue when we browse asp.net page in IE8. How can we solve problem so that asp.net page works fine in IE8 browser.
This issue can be solved by running asp.net page in IE8 browser's compatible mode.
To run asp.net application in IE8 compatible mode we can meta data section in the
asp.net markup
<head runat="server">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />
<title>IE8 Compatible Mode</title>
</head>
Same can also be configured through web.config file.

<system.webServer>
<httpProtocol>
<customHeaders>
<clear />
