Microsoft Excel - Formatting the axis in a pivot table charg

How can you fomat the axis in a pivot table chart?  I have selected the pivot table and through the Excel function of format cell I have modified the data being displayed in the pivot table, but it does not carry over to the chart.

The Formatting on the Pivot table will not carry over the Pivot chart. But you can format the Pivot chart as you asked.

1. Double-Click on the axis that you need to format.

2. Set the formatting parameters in the format tabs.

 3. Click Ok.
