Pls. advice me whether your problem got resolved? If yes, could you pls. provide us the instructions.

Hi Nidhi

I am talking about Windows 7 which is from Microsoft only. I didn't get your point.

Actually image  u r showing is of Vista..
Can u please explain what u r doing and what's the prob??

Oh..The image i got it from google just to show the save dialog box. Actually we have installed Windows 7 just recently in our company for 100 users as pilot program. Most of the users are not able to save documents in document library. When they try to save it, it takes them to My documents in the save dialog box. Usually it used to show the SharePoint library in the dialog box. I guess i have explained correctly.

Simply upload documents... if they are already uploaded and need to update then open them from spsite..
What's the prob in it??

Check they have permissions for uploading or saving or not to that docment library..

You will experience this kind of issue once you have large number(more than 20k) of users. :)

I am looking for a fix for this issue so badly since they have enough access, still they are not able to update the existing documents and create new documents using New > New Document in document library. They can open the existing documents but when they save it it will show them their system My documents instead of saving it.

Thanks for your replies.

Hi,

I think your problem is when u want to save any document library items. the dialogue box shows only local system not shows the dialogue as given.

If you facing the same problem that indicates some connections are not working fine and not related to OS.  Just check the userprofiles import and crawl settings. you will get it?

I dont think, i should happen with large number of people... just check permissions dear... might be some of the members have not the access..

I should work....

Hi Venkat

Thanks for your message and image. You are absolutely right. In our old environment (SharePoint 2007 + Windows XP Professional Client), we used to run webfldrs.msi to resolve this issue. As per your suggestion i can try user profiles settings...but may i know why crawl settings?

Balu

No not yet as It's not a easy task here. There are so many procedures in this company. But i will do it surely and update the status once this is done. Thanks Venkat.
