Microsoft Word - Cannot use word 2003 or any of the microsoft office 2003 programs

Cannot use word 2003 or any of the microsoft office 2003 programs. When I click on the word document the programs pop up and then starts installing. Then window error appears Microsoft office 2003 setup. It states:" Error 2330 setup cannot get attributes for a file C:\Documents and settings\all users\application data\Microsoft\Office\DATA. Verify that the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it."

I installed the windows installer before this ever happen because it didn't work. Now I can't find the program to uninstall it.

Hi Rowena,

Go to Program Files folder and delete the Microsoft Office folder, then just re-installed Microsoft Office.

Did you run a antivirus scan after you installed some windows updates? You might have downloaded some virus along with the updates, or its just possible that the updates messed up your office program, uninstall all antivirus and ms office and reinstall it again

Hi, Thanks for a fast responds.

I deleted the folder but when I installed a microsoft office it gave me an error. "ERROR 1317. Setup cannot create the folder c:\Program files\common files\microsoft shared\EQUATION. verify that the path exists in your system and that you have sufficient permission to update it."

The folder exists but I'm not able to open it. When I try to open the folder it tells me "the disk is not formatted. Do you want to format now?"

no virus. I uninstalled the antivirus. But I can't uninstall the microsoft office. Giving the oringial error above.

then there is a possibility of your hard disk having some errors which renders your installation of Microsoft Office unusable

Start > Computer
Right Click C( or which drive you installed Office): and select properties
Go to the tools tab
On the error checking group click check now.
Follow instructions.
