Outlook - missing the horizontal scroll bar in outlook 2010

Asked By Lila on 16-Jul-10 09:31 AM

Is there a way to view the horizontal scroll bar in office 2010 outlook?  In some messages I have to maximize  to full to see the whole message.  There is no horizontal scroll bar to keep from maximizing the email message.

Any help appreciated, thanks

1) at the bottom of the navigation pane (below the line with 5 dots in the middle) there is an arrow (hovertext says "configure buttons"). Click the arrow, and select "add or remove buttons".
2) select "folder list". a folder icon (and maybe some other icons) will now be in the bottom of the navigation screen.
3) click on "folder list" in the bottom of the navigation pane.
4) in the top part of the navigation pane ("all outlook items"), the "calendar" and "contacts" icons should now appear, as well as the mail items and folders.

note: the scroll bar will only appear if the length of the items in the navigation pane are longer than the width of the navpane.

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my dilemna.  I understand and followed your instructions and no problem there, I apologize for having to add one more question.

When I open an email message in order to see the whole message I have to maximize it in order to read it whereas in other Outlook versions there was always a horizontal scroll bar which helped in not having to always maximize the message.  There is a vertical scroll bar so no problem there.

Sorry for having to add this additional question and appreciate all your help.

Thanks :-)
