Windows Vista - Permission denied as Administrator

I'm trying to view the port settings for a printer that was configured using Standard tcpip port.
When I click on 'Configure Port', I'm getting "An error occurred during port configuration.  Access is denied".
I want to set up a similar port on another computer but can't remember the settings....so I want to look at the settings on this one so I can duplicate it.
any suggestions???

So are u sure that about using an administrator account for all this?

If not make sure that u are logged in with an administrator account on that system, otherwise that account u r logged in with might not contain sufficient rights for it.

check that your printer is set to use the usb port. printer drivers under Vista are crap at detecting the correct port, they tend to default to lpt ports.
Go to control panel/printers right click on your  printer icon select properties, then ports select usb.

Yes, it's the Administrator account....there's only 1 account on the system..

It's rather complicated...I have a wired router SMC Barricade with a built-in parallel print server.  I've got my HP4000 Laser connected to the parallel port on the router.  The Vista pc is connected to the SMC via a Linksys wireless N router.  Everything is working fine...but I need to see the settings so I can set up another PC to print on the HP. 
The printer properties are showing correctly as a Standard TCP/IP port...I just don't have privilege to view the port configuration settings.  I am using the Administrator account.
