SharePoint - I lost all my SharePoint Site how to restore it.

HI,

Today when i try to open the my share point site through browser, but am unable to open it browser. and when i try to open it from the Designer, it shows "Could not found the Web server at 'MyServer' on port 8989". When it Checked in IIS, the sites are not available inside it, and it check through Central admin there the the corresponding Web applications are available. I bit confused and check in 'Inetpub' there also site folders are not available. None of my share point site are open apart from the "Central Admin". I don't know what actually went wrong. How can i restore all my share point site.

Try to restore from Central Administration by going to Central Administration and selecting Application Management and extend the site (which you see no longer in the IIS, mostly used to check the deleted sites here). When SharePoint extends the site it verifies if existing site is in IIS, and if not - creates it. After the site will be extended you will have you original site back in IIS

How to Restore from a Backup:

- Open Frontpage
- Menu File / Open Site
- Enter the URL of your Sharepoint site or subsite, to which you want to restore
- Enter your Sharepoint administration login and password
- Go to menu Tools / Server / Restore web site
- Select the backup file on your local harddisk

If the restore is finished, you will see the restored content when visiting the site or subsite with a browser.

If Frontpage gives an error "Cannot restore because a template is already applied", make sure to create a new subsite first, without applying a template (such as a Team site template).
