Windows Live - Windows Live Mail 2011 blocked sender list not working.
Asked By Joseph on 26-Oct-10 04:37 PM
I have a blokered sender list, which worked fine with Windows Live Mail 2010. After I upgraded it to the 2011 version, the list does not work anymore. I checked a number of times to ensure the exact match, either the From email addresses or the domain names (for those blocked for domain names). It is a frustrating experience. I wish I could go back to 2010 version.

- In the upper-right corner of any Windows Live Mail page, click Options.
- In the left pane, click Mail and junk e-mail.
- Click Allowed and blocked senders.
- Click Blocked senders to see your blocked senders list
or
click Allowed senders to see your allowed senders.
- Follow the instructions.
Notes
- You can't block messages from major domains, including:
- MSN (msn.com)
- Your MSN Personal Address

Thanks for your reply. But it doesn't help me. I did all that. I even check if the email address on my blocked sender list matches the email I received in my Inbox, or the dormain names. It simply does not work. Do you have any better ideas?

Exactly the same problem. I also checkedmy blocked sender's list and it seems fine, but the masil is not being automatically moved to junk as it was in live mail previous to 2011. Hope someone can help.

Just found this
1. Make sure all your junk mail settings are set up and saved the way you want and close out of Live Mail.
2. Go to > Control Panel > Programs and Features > right click Windows Live Essentials 2011 > click Uninstall/Change.
3. Select "Repair all Windows Live programs" in the dialog box.
4. After the repair is done, reboot when asked.
Hopefully the techs will release a fix to the updater soon.

I am having the same problem with the 2011 Windows Live Mail. Have you any suggestions? Thanks, Sally

I have the same issue with Live Mail 2011 - nothing shown in the blocked senders list gets blocked - they still come in the inbox as if they had never been blocked, and Im getting a lot of spam email recently. Ive been adding to the safe senders list in hope that the most restrictive mode actually works (i.e. the mode where only emails from the safe sender's list will appear in your inbox). Does anyone know if that feature works, or am I just wasting my time building that list for future enabling of the most restrictive blocking ?

I have the same issues here. I have blocked how many as I keep getting junk mail. I have even tried the blocking domain feature yet I set get 100's of junk mail. Why doesn't it have some sort of filter at least with Yahoo my other account I have been using doesn't get so much I mean I get junk mail but it's sent to junk which I check just to be sure my regular doesn't accidentally get sent there.

It worked! Control Panel/Programs and Features/Windows Live Essentials/Uninstall/Repair. My junk email is being blocked again. Thank you.
