Windows 7 - I can receive emails in Windows Live Mail but get errors when sending

I have ticked the box "My server requires authentication", unticked on outgoing server "this server requires a secure SSL connection" and ticked it on the incoming server; have tried the opposite tick/untick on the servers, same error message; have tried both ticked, same error message; have tried both unticked, get slightly different error message. Help!

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was 'llaffy@live.com.au'.

This seems to be a problem with some ISPs, based on the following link:

One thing to try before giving up, though... make sure you have SSL checked for the smtp server and try using port 587 instead of 25. Some ISPs block port 25 due to hacking and abuse but 587 might work.

The most common reason of this error is a restrictive (ISP) internet service provider. The ISP you're using won't allow you to use the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) that your email software designates. They do this in order to reduce or prevent abuse; they don't want junk mailers going through their network with masses of junk email.
