Windows 7 - How to disable Windows Live Slide Show

Asked By Dennis on 09-Jan-11 09:38 PM
Recently my emails started showing attached photos in a slide show format, Windows Live Slide Show, that is inferior to viewing the photos alone.  Is there some way to disable the Slide Show?

1. Click Start.
2. In the Search field, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
3. If prompted by UAC (User Account Control), click YES .
4. On the left pane, go to Configuration\Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\ Windows SideShow.
5. On thr right pane, double click  Turn off Windows SideShow.
6. Click the Disabled radio button.
7. Click OK.

Thanks, Anoop S.

Those instructions are EXACTLY what was printed in another response, but when entering <gpedit.msc> into the search box, the response was "No items match your search."  Back to square one!  Any other suggestions?

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium and am unable to modify or turn off Windows Live Slide Show which recently activated in my incoming emails, maybe with a recent Microsoft Update??
