printer was unable to communicate with my computer. how do i powercycle the computer?

To resolve:

1. Unplug USB cable from PC.
2. Open a Command window
3. Type net stop spooler.
4. Type sc config spooler depend= RPCSS start= Auto
5. Type net start spooler
6. Type Sc config plugplay depend= rpcss
7. Reconnect USB cable and test.

It worked for me with a P1005. Well, it worked for about 2 months then I shared the printer so someone else could print and it came back. It happens when either of them print.

So, if it is a single user connected with USB then this should work.

hi,

First of all, you need to log in as Administrator in the domain where the printer is installed.
Then, go to Start -> Configurations -> Printers and Fax Devices (shown "Impressoras e aparelhos de Fax" for me)
Select the printer device that is reporting the firmware download error and open it.
Go to the Printer menu (Impressora) and Properties (Propriedades). Select Security in the top of window.
Ok, all you have to do is modify the Permissions for the users who have this problem. Allow they all to print and manage documents.
