Do the following at the IIS Manager to get a more meaningful message:

1. Select the web site from the tree on the left and click on the “ASP” icon
2. Expand the “Debugging Properties” and set to true the “Send errors to browser”

this error when iis don't send error details to your browser.

You can change value of "Send error To Browser" in IIS Manager/ Asp

And then, restart IIS, refresh your browser to view your error details and fix it

you need to make the following change to see the error message.

1) Internet Option:

uncheck "Show friendly HTTP error message" check box

2) IIS Settings:

cscript %systemdrive%\inetpub\adminiscripts\adsutil.vbs set w3svc/AspScriptErrorSentToBrowser true    (to allow error message send to client)

There is similar issue that we are looking at (see http://forums.iis.net/thread/1413191.aspx )

by default, IIS 7 (ASP) does not send errors to the browser.  Enable the setting and see what error is displayed.  Also, make sure classic asp is installed.
