How to test my laptop speakers are defected r not

pls help

1. Check for the settings of the volume control for any mute volume
2. If the volume is not muted then use a head phone to listen to the music.
3. If the music plays via head phone then the speaker should be gone
4. If the music not played via head phone also then the sound card driver problem

Try to run it in some music software like Winamp

Try to run any video file like VLC player..
