Microsoft Word - Error Code 6069 when attempting to open an embedded excel spreadsheet

Asked By Zachary on 21-Apr-12 02:11 PM
I have a word document that generates a label based on a user-selected part number. In order to simplify revision control of the labels, I have embedded a spreadsheet in the document containing all the information pertaining to each part number.
The problem that I'm having is that one of my co-workers keeps getting an error message listing run-time error '6069' as the problem when the code tries to activate the excel workbook. The gist of the error message is that the object was created in Excel and Excel isn't available to open the object.
My co-worker has Excel 2003 installed on his computer and uses it regularly without any problems.
Has anyone ever encountered this error before? I haven't been able to find any information on it at all with respect to VBA. In the context of windows itself I've found mentions of an error code 6069 that means that a .dll is missing or there are issues with the registry.
Any help would be fantastic

Yeah, I've only ever been able to find quicktime references. I'm not sure if the error is caused by the same source in both quicktime and VBA, but it was rendered moot because the user in question doesn't have administrative access to fix his registry.
Thanks, though
