In the same document, the underscore either is too high and touches the word, or it does not.  If I use format painter from the one that does not touch, the other becomes OK.  I cannot see any difference on te format settings.  Any ideas? 

Any chance you could post a document with just the two formatted words?  There are properties you can see in code that aren't easily seen in the GUI.
