Windows 7 - Desktop resolution - Asked By sachin s on 28-May-12 02:06 PM

Hi
Could any1 pls tell me how to change the resolution of the desktop ie:) I want to increase the font size of the icons & size of all the other files and folders.  (I know how to get this done with a normal system).
But i want to get this done when:
1) my mouse right click is disabled.(right click doesnt work anywhere)
2) desktop locked ie again right click disabled.
3) No run cmd or ctrl panel.



Pls help how to fix this asap.

I guess you have all your administrative access turned off. I hope you cannot edit registry or edit any powershell commands as well. 

But if you can do one of the following,  then it will be only your way out. 

a) Put this command in a batch file, and run the batch file. If you can run this successfully, then you should do a reboot and the new settings will take effect.
rundll32 user32.dll,ChangeDisplaySettingsA 1280,1024,55

b) You can use other third party utilities like ResSwitch (search the internet and you will find the download link), which lets you run some commands and change the resolutions.

You can change sixe using-

Control Panel-> All Control Panel Items- Display


In this location you can make changes for size.
