SharePoint - The sync sends e-mails to everyone? SharePoint - AD

Hi,
I'm going to syncronize my SharePoint Server with Active Directory and I have a question. Will the syncronization proccess send an e-mail to every person that exists in the Active Directory welcoming they to SharePoint? There are more than three thousand people in the Active Directory, and for now we are only experimenting the functions of SharePoint to solve some of our problems and needs... So if the syncronization sends an e-mail to everyone, it would probably cause lots of chaos here. Thanks.
