Windows Update - Upgrading from Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 8 Pro

Hi Friends,

I have a Laptop having following configuration.

OS : Windows 7 Home Basic
RAM : 3 GB
HD : 350 GB

In Windows 7 Home Basic, I don't have IIS (not given by Microsoft to Basic edition), so I want to upgrade to Win 8 Pro.
My question is, does MS Visual Studio 2008/2010/2012 & MS SQL Server 2008 R2 work with Win 8 Pro seamlessly?
Also if I upgrade, do I need to increase the RAM of my laptop?

Please guide if any of you have experienced Win 8 features.

I am using VS2010 & VS2012 in WIndows 8 for the last two months without any issue. I don't faced any issue. Tried with MVC.net Application as well.

Thanks for replying. But will it consume more memory, I have 3GB RAM in my laptop.

I have Lap of 4GB RAM and using this run VS2010 and other programs run simultaneously
