PHP - Software requirements for creating web forum like egghead cafe?

Hello friends,
I am good web designer and programmer with knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, PHP 5, and MySQL . now i want to create web app to have web forum for the students of IT fields for posting their problem and getting soln. now in addition to whatever i m knowing, what else technology i have to use and one more restriction is, it should be open source.........
