Microsoft Excel - How do I keep my grouping and allow users to format cells/rows/columns while protected

Asked By Toria Kline on 05-Aug-13 06:29 PM
The sheet I'm working on has a lot of formulas and conditional formatting that needs to be locked to users, and many groups as well. Any time I find a code that allows the grouping to work, my users cannot format cells/rows/columns, which I specifically allow when protecting the sheet. Sometimes, it appears to work, but as soon as I save and re-open, the users are again locked out of formatting cells/rows/columns, which they need access to to add more fields.

Hello Toria,
I don't understand exactly what it is that you are trying to do.  Perhaps posting a sample worksheet would help.
As a random thought, have you considered using separate sheets for input, calculation and output which might allow you to achieve the security that you desire.
