MySQL - Use an excel cell to define the criteria for Like

Hi,

I have locale column in the database where I need to group locales into specific destinations. I need to use in mysql the statement: (where locale like ?)  and use excel cell value to input the locale.
Here is one example:

Locales      Destination
Bahamas Nassau   Bahamas
Bahamas Paradise   Bahamas
Bahamas Sun    Bahamas 
in this case , ? should be Bahamas.

I used locale like ? but microsoft query did not return anything. So I am sure it is related to how I am writing the statement: where locale like?
the cell is a named range : input.
