Hi Every One,

I have noticed that in my website i got a popup asking " this website uses cookies to store temporary data , are you sure want to continue ? " , every time it is coming when i refresh the Home page. but i need this first time only when i log in to the site.

Can you please suggest the way forward.

Thanks

It is a prompt in the security settings of your browser (you don't state which one you are using).  You can modify this by opening up the settings (probably Internet Options/Security tab or Advanced).  Look for settings related to cookies.

Hi,
I have modified the settings in Firefox  "Tools==>options==>privacy panel ==> Use custom settings for history ==> and disabled "accept cookies from sites".

after the change made, am not able to log in the site.

i think this should be always "checked", but i dont need the security popup every time when i refresh the page, which is interrupting to work..

Can you please suggest  ?  how i can display the popup only first time Login.

Thanks.

If your site uses cookies, then it needs to be enabled not disabled.  I don't use Firefox but I suspect their is an option to prompt you which is the dialog you are seeing.

From a design perspective, "requiring" browser cookies to use the site is not a good idea.  You'd want to look at session variables instead so this can be managed largely on the server.  Most people do not block session cookies.
