Microsoft Excel - Pivot Combining text fields - Asked By jezza on 15-Jan-14 07:50 AM

Hi

I have extracted data from a program and it lists each order in rows, however if a person orders more than 1 product it lists them 1 after the other.,

Order ID   Product 1 Quantity Product 2 Quantity Product 3 Quantity
1234 Peach 35 Apple 20
2345 Pumpkin 20 Apple 8 Peach 151
3456 Apple 21 Peach 22 Pumpkin 23

What I need to do is create a Pivot table of each product orders so I need to capture all of the products in 1 list but at the moment it wants to treat Product 1, product 2 and product 3 as 3 seperate fields. How do I combine them?

Hi Jezza,
I think your problem is down, in part, to the fact that you have different fruits under the same Product heading.  For instance Product 1 has Peach, Pumpkin and Apple.  You might have more success if you can rearrange the data so that all Product 1 is Peach etc.
