Visual Studio .NET - How can I interact with Excel 2007 and Visual Studio 2008 - C# - Professional edition

I want to do programming in C# and want to use Visual Studio 2008 professional edition to compile the same. My Input will come from Excel 2007 and output i need in Excel 2007. Can we have some procedure for that or suggestion of any book etc.? As I have gone through your trick of creating Macro and pasting the same in C#. But, how exactly i can do this? which type of project i should select in Visual studio ? Where in Excel the code will be written from which i can copy?

If this is for an ASP.NET application, the Excel libraries are not suitable for that environment. You'd need to purchase something like spreadsheetgear.com. the Excel libraries will function in ASP.NET in your development environment but you are likely to experience all sorts of issues in a multi-user environment like ASP.NET. Microsoft explicitly recommends not using their Excel libraries in ASP.NET apps.
Otherwise, pick either a console app or a windows forms .net app. You can also stick your code in a class library project (dll).
