I would like to validate a scenario,

Need to perform transactional replication across 2 instances configured in the same machine. One for report, other for transactions.

Is it possible to accomplish this using SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition configured across multiple instances within the same machine.

I tried to replicate within the same instance, 2 similar database.This worked.

However, across multiple instances in the same machine. I am getting the below exception:-

"

The initial snapshot for publication xxxxx is not yet available

"

and not replicating.

Please provide suggestions on how to accomplish this task.
