Copy formula to a new workbook without referencing original workbook in Excel.

Copy, Paste works absolutely fine but if you are having a problem, some more detail or a sample spreadsheet would help.

I've done what you are suggesting without success. The copied formula will reference worksheets from the original workbook. I am trying to copy only the formula to be used in a new workbook which references worksheets within the new workbook only.

Ah hah,

This could be a bit painful depending on how much you have to copy but if you go into the formula edit window and select the contents then do Copy or CTRL-C, close the edit window and then go to the required cell on the new book and Paste/CTRL-V, the formula will be copied verbatim.

Another option would be to just duplicate the whole workbook and clear the constants if that is the sort of thing you have in mind as an ultimate outcome.
