I need a formula that will do the following:

If cell A1 contains an "X", then cell A2 is left blank, but,

if cell A1 is blank, then put an "X in cell A2

Hello Kathy,

It depends on how complete your logic is.

If A1 can only be 'X' or <blank> then in A2 = IF(A1 = "X","","X")

If A1 can have other values then it would need to be A2 =IF(A1 = "X","",IF(A1 = "","X","Some other value"))
