VB.NET - VB6 SetItemData equivalent in .NET - Asked By Anu Sarathy on 06-May-16 08:58 AM

I have converted the vb6 code to .net .While migrating I have a function ,where I want to change the vb6 compatibility to .net. Please find the code below:

Dim x = cmb1.Items.Add(CStr(value))

for i = 1 to count

vb6.setItemdata(cmb1,x,i-1)

next i

What is the equivalent of replacing the setitemdata with .net function. Thanks

I believe you want the .Tag property which is an Object .NET type. The ComboBox has a specific class type and not just strings. That class has both a display value and an internal value (database key etc...). The code below just loads a string as the item and then appears to set the internal value in the item data. Not sure you need to do that in your .NET code now.
