Compact Framework - RDS and ADO

Asked By Matt H on 28-Aug-04 11:05 AM
I Need a lesson.
I am using ADO to connect to a remote MS Access Database. I.E.
      Conn.Open "Provider=MS Remote;" & _
           "Remote Server=http://localhost;" & _
           "Remote Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & _
           "Data Source=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Data\DataStore.mdb"
This will connect without any errors
Now need to open the Recordset
    If Rst.State = adStateClosed Then
      Rst.Open strQuery, Conn
    End If
this is where i get an error: Internet Server Error
if i change the Remote Server to any other than my computer the error is:
Internet Client Error: Cannot Connect to Server
I have tried to read through the MSDN articles with no succsesse.
So if any one could help me Step by Step
Config the IIS
Edit the Reg
and a sample of code would be nice
I will be very very Grateful to the person who will help. I have been trying to fix this proplem for o tooo long :)

Are you sure the remote server is set up?

Looks like your connection string is valid:

However, I think this is no obsolete and not supported by Microsoft.
Might be a good idea to avoid this strategy to avoid future problems.

This is also a good little FAQ on the security problems with this:
