C# .NET - Microsoft Outlook fail to launch, 0xc0000006

Asked By David Svensson on 07-Nov-05 10:20 AM
Hi!
I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. I am using XP SP2 and my Microsoft Outlook 2003 stoped working a few days ago.
When trying to start it a window pops up where it says:
"Microsoft Office Outlook has encoutered a problem and have to close"
When I check the report it says:
"Exception information
Code: 0xc0000006 Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x0000000000000000 Adress: 0x0000000036083dad "
And if i try to start it again it tries to start in a failsafe mode but that does not work either and the same message comes up.
Does someone know the reason and how I can fix it...
Thanks
/David

Hi!
Thanks for your replay. I tried removing outcmd.dat but nothing changed. It still does not work and the error code is exactly the same.
Any other ideas that could work?
Thanks

Hi,
I had the same problem, but for most software of the Office suite.
I had to uninstall office, then run start/run/ regedit
BE CAREFUL... DON'T MESS WITH THIS AS IS CAN BREAK YOUR WINDOWS! ... you should make a backup of it before to do anything!
Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft
delete the folder Office
Then re-install office, and it should work!
Good luck,
Jean
