close button on a popup window. 
In addition you may wish to seriously consider how many friends you will make if you ever find a way to do so.
Popups are nasty enough little monsters without providing their authors a way to prevent people from closing them. We have no popups anywhere on eggheadcafe.com and no amount of money could ever get us to use them.

Your best approach would be to open a new window with all the toolbar & other settings turned off.
Here's an example of how to do it
mySettings='width='+ w + ',height='+ h + ',top=' + top + ',left=' + left + ',location=no,directories=no,menubar=no,toolbar=no,status=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,dependent=no';
myWindow=window.open('',myname,mySettings);

which automatically close the PopUp window after  3 Seconds, and in between that if User closes the window, the Process will not be done which i want on Parent Window, so want to disable close button!
