Change default account for anonymous access in IIS 7 using Command Line

This explains how to change the default account of anonymous access in IIS 7 using Command line.

The default account which is used for anonymous access in IIS7 is IUSR account which is set at the time of installation of IIS in the server and this can be changed using the following command:

appcmd set config /section:anonymousAuthentication /userName: <username> /password: <password>

Ex: appcmd set config /section:anonymousAuthentication /userName: eggHead /password: secret
