The Book of Quickies
I am hereby nicknaming the combined books of Kings (1 & 2), which I have just finished reading, "The Book of Quickies."
Or, the "Book of Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss."
Pretty boring, all in all. Except for a few fun parts.
Such as:
Elijah and the Prophets of Baal.
Elisha Traps Blinded Arameans (and proceeds to throw a party)
Otherwise, pretty boring. A couple of good smites, lots of slaughter, but mostly "Son of some guy, reign for xx years, then he keeled over dead."
Blech. On to Chronicles.

The Tower of Doom
Growing up on Fort Detrick, once per month somebody would make a reference to the 'Anthrax Hotel', a seven story building that had been quarantined (supposedly) and that noone had entered in 20 or so years.
As the story went, a worker had made a screw up, released anthrax in the building, and they had left the scene untouched, sealing off the building. Bodies were supposedly left sprawled on the floor, you know, really gruesome stuff.
The sad thing is, the truth is much more sanitary. No dead bodies, no real quarantine, just an empty building gathering dust, devoid of infectious agents.
Mores the pity, I think.
Anyhoo, the gov't has scheduled its destruction. Pasta Lasagna, Tower of Doom
Still, what better way to reminisce about the horrors of old than to search the infernalnet for conspracies and idiotic theories? Especially given the connection between Frederick and this anthrax release from '01.
